As of Feb 21, Obama had 582,525 donors in 2008, that included 256,000 in January and approx 327,000 in February. Now Obama's number of public donors in 2008 stands at a whopping 909,525 for 2008, meaning an amazing 650,000+ donors for February alone. If he keeps the avg contribution of $140, that multiplied by 650,000 is a STAGGERING $91,000,000. Now, clearly the Jan avg contribution has gone down quite a bit. I don't have anything to base that on other than me trying to be a bit conservative, but I am guessing that the avg may be down to $90-$110 per donor, which would put him in the $58.5 million-$71.5 million range. WOW!!!

Obama said at the debate that the average contribution was $109.

The 'one million contributors' isn't 'one million in '08.' It's total. I'm pretty sure that we should use the 327k number for January.

That would put him at, extrapolated, somewhere around 45-50 million for the month. It may be higher; I don't know how many offline contributors there are. I would be quite shocked if he raised more then 55 million.

Hell, I'm ALREADY shocked! While discussing this with a friend earlier today we both laughed about how inured we've become to Obama's success story, and how it truly is an amazing thing.

In behavorial psychology, they study the phenomenon of people pathologizing those who disagree with them. If someone disagrees with you, they either don't have the facts, or they're stupid, or evil.

You're going with evil.

If we Obama supporters would just stop being so selfish, we'd see the light.

Look, Squirrel, we see different facts. You see someone that "we ALL can trust." Okay, that's valid, that's what YOU see. WE see someone that ONLY Democrats can trust. Someone who, like Bill, will be divisive and, ironically, cave to the Right in order to be reelected. WE see someone who CAN'T be trusted by the left to govern from the left - her husband surely didn't.

We aren't selfish. We aren't entitled. We aren't spoiled. We aren't elite. We aren't idiots. We aren't ignorant. We aren't evil.

We just disagree.

"WE see someone that ONLY Democrats can trust." Exactly. Also, as has been witnessed in the past 11 contests and will be seen again on March 4th, MOST democrats don't even trust her. If she fails to appeal to the majority of her own party, how does anyone expect her to appeal to any non Democrats? Make NO mistake about it. Obama is why we are seeing the largest voter turnouts in history AND the most energized Democratic base in this generation. As all the polls show, HE is the ONLY chance we have against McWalking-Cane in the November GE.

One of the speakers on the conference call, I think it was Terry McA., said that they were better off now than they were 30 days ago!

And Maggie Williams said that they did better than they expected on Super Tuesday.
